On the evening of Thursday 18th January, Year 5 sang at Chichester Festival Theatre as part of a United Voices concert.

The children had worked hard during the Autumn term, in order to learn a selection of songs by heart. They attended a rehearsal, at Chichester High School, with many schools from the area where they began to realise the scale of the project. Over 300 children singing together produced a wonderful sound.

On the morning of Thursday 18th, there was another rehearsal at the theatre. Some children also introduced one of the songs, using microphones which projected the sound around the huge building.

On the night, the children turned up, all ready to go, in their coloured t-shirts and black trousers. It was a truly spectacular sight and an even better sound, proving that singing together really can bring a lot of joy and friendship. The theatre was packed and everyone seemed to really appreciate the wonderful singing.  Well done, Year 5! You were truly amazing.
