On Monday, Zoe (Year 6), Mia (Year 6) and Nellie (Year 5) became the Junior Mayor and councillors of Chichester for the day. The day was full of activities including being robed in the Mayor’s Parlour, touring the fire station, attending the St George’s Day service at the cathedral, visiting the planetarium and concluded with a tree planting ceremony at school. During the day the children met many important people including the Lord Lieutenant and High Sheriff of West Sussex and of course the present mayor  and mayoress of Chichester (Councillors Peter and Margaret Evans). The children had a fantastic time and were a real credit to the school – well done girls!

Visiting the fire station in Chichester – we had a great time!

Lunch time – we had a lovely lunch in the Cloister’s restaurant and the girls showed good manners!

Planting our ceremonial tree at school – a crab apple tree with great views of the cathedral.
