MFL

At Parklands, the Modern Foreign Language which we teach is French. We believe that pupils gain a lot by learning another language and we value the other languages spoken by our pupils and their families.

Pupils are given opportunities to listen to, speak, read and write in French. They learn about French culture, customs and traditions.

French is taught in a variety of styles and lessons include stories, songs, role play, poems and rhymes in the language. By hearing and reading simple words and phrases, pupils broaden their vocabulary; begin to construct conversations and develop their ability to communicate.

Parklands School takes part in a language competition and has frequently won the KS2 category.
