Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is additional funding given to us by the government so that we can support our disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers. It is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings from January 2013. It is also allocated to pupils who have been eligible for FSM in any of the previous six years and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months.

We use this grant in many ways to support the teaching and learning in maths and literacy, including phonics, throughout the school to improve pupil progress and attainment, including gifted and talented pupils, to promote emotional resilience, self-confidence and readiness to learn and also to subsidise school trips (including residential), instrumental lessons and after school clubs to ensure inclusion for all.
