Paid Hot Meals
From September 2026, school meals at Parklands will be provided by ISS Education, who are taking over from Chartwells as part of a new West Sussex County Council contract.
ISS will be bringing exciting new menus and a brand new online ordering system to make managing school meals easier than ever for families. Great news on price too, meals will be just £2.95 per day, which is 25p less than the current charge.

Packed Lunch
Alternatively, children are welcome to bring in a healthy packed lunch.
Please no sweets, chocolate or fizzy drinks.
Free School Meals
If you are in receipt of any of the benefits listed below and you apply for free school meals, we will receive a grant to support your child’s education.
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided they are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190, as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs)
• Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

Universal Free School Meals
From September 2014 all pupils in Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2 in state-funded schools in England are offered a free school meal (FSM). If your child is entitled to UFSM but you are also in receipt of any of the benefits listed above, we ask that you please complete the application form so that we may receive the Pupil Premium grant that your child would be entitled to.
